UPDATE: A TOWN CALLED MALICE 2018.08.10

We’re continuing to work on Malice while maintaining momentum on our other projects going on this month, can’t have too many irons in the fire (heh heh). We will be running three playtests at the upcoming Strategicon, including a new playset entitled “The Sky’s Gone Out”. We’ve also managed to put together a beta draft we’ve put in the hands of a select few, in order to see how it’s reading as a whole. So far, the outlook has been promising. Christopher Grey (of “Happiest Apocalypse on Earth” fame) will also be running it in Games on Demand. This is all prior to the big push for BigBadCon in October.

Now comes the hard part – we’re about to start looking for our cover artist, which will be setting the town for both the book and the Kickstarter campaign. It’s tricky – on one hand, you sort of know what you want but I am the first to admit I am no artist. So I don’t want to stifle the creativity of whom we select with too heavy a hand. But we definitely want a consistent and strong visual theme. We’ll keep you posted on that.

This week we’ve also been working on some online elements, in order to facilitate play Malice online on Roll20.net. The headline image is the playmat background so far. We’re also kicking ideas around on how we want our KS video to look, because we do have a bit of a reputation to uphold on that front. It won’t be as “cute” as the Spirit of 77 and Bedlam Hall videos, we’re hoping to maintain our own vibe for it that has the gravitas of the teaser we already put out. So stay tuned.
