Stroker Ace – Professional Race Car Driver
Unfortunately most people associate the name “Stroker Ace” with the disastrous Burt Reynolds film which is a tragedy in its way. In reality, Stroker Ace is the pseudonym of William Neely and Bob Ottum who wrote an amazing pseudo-memoir of NASCAR racing before big corporations took over, called Stand On It. Outrageous stories about racing and the shenanigans that go behind the scenes, if you’re playing an All-Star Good Old Boy or running an adventure based on the race car circuit, you owe it to yourself to order a copy of this book on Amazon. (This book would’ve been amazing if it had been made like the great pro-football film, North Dallas Forty).
Description: Stroker is driving the Roscoe’s Chicken-sponsored race car in this week’s race down at the fairgrounds, but has arrived in town early to catch up with the *real* racing circuit, the illegal street race known as The Midnight Grits Run. He is accompanied by his trusted mechanic, Lugs, an ugly lump of a man with a double helping of attitude.
Moves:
- Put ‘Er In Reverse, Just Like the First – Stroker is extremely skilled in driving cars backwards at speeds of over 100 MPH. As a trick move, or even just for fun, Stroker will spin the car around and drive her backwards at breakneck speed that can confuse an opponent.
Twists:
- DJ OPTION – Stroker thinks one of the players is his good luck charm and either wants to drag them into a street race in the passenger seat, whether they want to go or not.
- DJ OPTION – Koomba Kola is willing to pay top dollar to the players if they can get Stroker to break his contract and sign to drive their car. Unfortunately, Stroker has a few conditions…
- DJ OPTION – While hanging out at the Motel 7, Stroker wants to throw a makeshift party and have enlisted the players to make it happen. Little does he know the racing commission is snooping around, trying to bust him again.
