Whew! Okay, now we’ve caught up! We gotta say, we did not expect such an amazing turnout for the Spirit of 77 Kickstarter campaign – an amazing $37K raised! If you backed our campaign, we owe you a debt of gratitude. If you were unable to contribute, no worries! Through the magic of BackerKit, you can still pre-order our core book, its companion Wide World of 77 and several Double-Feature Adventures. Check it out! But wait… there’s more.
They warn you that your Kickstarter campaign is a whirlwind of activity, but you’re never 100% prepared (anyone who says they are is “foofing you”, as my grandmother used to say.) We spoke with some great people on their podcasts, had some great press reviews and slept very little. (You can check all of this out on our Media page on the Spirit of 77 site.) It literally took us a month to catch up on everything, but we’ve still been busy! As a general update, the core book is currently in the hands of our editor, we’re finalizing our additional artists and continuing our pace in publishing in May of 2015. In the meantime, we’re still playtesting additional material, like the adventure campaigns that will be included in the companion book, The Wide World of 77. In this accompanying photo, we’re sharing the details of “The Kaboom! Show” – a Spirit of 77 adventure that pays homage to Chuck Barris, The Price is Right and all those crazy daytime game shows that never really seemed to be about winning.
In addition, we’re planning an additional game session of “Cruise Ship of the Damned”, the downloadable one-shot adventure which will introduce you to the ’77 mechanics. And there’s still more coming, oh believe me. So stay tuned, thank you again for your support and always…. Keep on TRUCKIN’.
